Time Spanner Projects

 

Time Spanners are a twenty-one piece community music group from West Berkshire who play exciting percussion driven music from the thirteenth century to the present day.

They are a band with a difference in that thirteen of their musicians have a learning difficulty or physical disability.

They have been causing a stir in the South East of England over the last three years with regular performances at Festivals, Civic Events, Arts Centres, Libraries and Carnivals as well as appearances on radio and T.V.

Their musical style is varied taking in Samba, Socca, Medieval Music, Blues, Native American & North African music as well as Electronic Music, R N B and Dance.

 

Time Spanners have been awarded a number of commissions, since their formation in December 2000.

These include:

Presto (for the Wash Common Festival) 2002

Fanfare & Flourish (for the Mayor of Newbury) 2004

The Cuckoo Suite (for Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre) 2005
