Biographies:
Charles Spicer Charles Spicer is best known as oboist and singer with The Mellstock Band. He has worked for the National Theatre and the RSC as both actor and musician as well as in theatre, film, and television.
He played a variety of period instruments and wrote the musical arrangements for The Oxford Waits, and plays modern oboe and cor anglais with Red Spirit. With The Mellstock Band, Charles plays in concert at home and abroad as well as providing music for films including the BBC's Pride and Prejudice, The Woodlanders, and The Return of the Native.
Mark T. is an award winning musician, composer & musical director whose work spans across the categories of folk, blues, and world roots music. In the 1980's and 90's he released a series of ground breaking recordings which received critical acclaim across all areas of the music press both solo and in the company of his eosoteric collaborators The Brickbats with whom he toured regulary.
Today Mark T. divides his time between film making, gigging, lecturing and organising community music projects including the Queen's Award nominated performance group 'Time Spanners'. Recently he returned to his first musical love with the release of his 'Folk Songs & Ballads' CD to critical acclaim.
Together they provide a unique take on early music mixing Charles's wide knowledge of period music and English folk tunes with Mark's Celtic, Mediterranean and North African inspired backings.
